Experience of Menopause in India: So far and yet so near!

by | Mar 11, 2022 | Moving Through Menopause Podcast

You don’t need a Masters in Biology to talk about Menopause but it sure helps! Aishwarya Viswamitra is a final year Master’s student at the Indian Institute for Science Education and Research (IISER) in Mohali. She is studying women’s ‘lived’ experience of menopause in India. She was interested to discover the answers to 2 simple questions:

  1. What has your menopause journey been like so far?
  2. What does Menopause mean to you?

No two stories are the same!

In exploring the similarities and differences in experiences she came across some fascinating narratives. More importantly these conversations confirmed what we both suspected all along; that menopause is not just a set of symptoms. Our experience of menopause is as unique as the women who live through it and the wider circumstances within which they exist. Join us to hear all about women’s experiences of Menopause on another continent.

Why not listen while you take a stroll, relax with a cuppa or bust some Yoga moves.
