Pilates for Menopause
All our Group Pilates Classes are designed to maximise midlife. We will improve muscle tone around the middle, help you stand up taller, improve your balance and strengthen muscle and bone. All our movements are underpinned by the Pilates Fundamentals of concentration, control and precision of movement.
Pilates for Beginners
This session is suitable for people who are new to Pilates or returning to Pilates after a break. We will learn the Pilates Fundamentals of breathing, body alignment and core engagement, adding small equipment with light hand weights, the Pilates soft ball and Phillipa’s favourite the resistance band! Modifications and Progressions are offered to allow you to work at a level suited to your own body.
Pilates for Improvers
Now you have grasped the fundamentals, let’s take it up a level with a more challenging and imaginative repertoire. We will strengthen, tone, improve posture and balance all in one hour harnessing body weight resistance and Pilates small equipment. Modifications and Progressions are offered to allow you to work at a level suited to your own body.
Suitable if you have prior Pilates experience.
Yoga for Menopause
All our Hatha Yoga Classes are designed to maximise midlife. We will improve your flexibility, physical strength and balance with the added sleep boosting benefits of the Yoga breathing practice (pranayama) and a period of stress busting relaxation or meditation to finish.
Discover Hatha Yoga
This session is suitable for Beginners. You can expect an accommodating practice combining static postures, flowing combinations and mindful breathwork at a manageable pace. Once the physical practice is complete, with mind and body in harmony we will enjoy a few moments of relaxation.
Hatha Yoga for Improvers
Now you can graduate to enjoy more challenging practice with longer holds and combinations and more challenging balances suited to those having some prior experience. Once the physical practice is complete, with mind and body in harmony we will enjoy a few moments of relaxation.
Move more Mindfully through Midlife
Phillipa developed this mat based programme to stretch and condition the body and refresh the mind. We will move into and hold positions for a little longer; mobilising and nourishing joints through the dispersal of synovial fluid and stretching tight muscles. We will dive deeper into mindfulness as we move and harness the power of meditation to balance emotions, decrease stress and anxiety, reduce pain, and enhance mental performance with a 10 -15 minute guided meditation to finish.
This session is the perfect antidote to the stresses and strains of our fast paced modern lives and your body will be thanking you for taking time out to ‘Restore Refresh and Renew’ your body and your mind.
