Hacking Chemo with Martha Tettenborn RD

This episode I chat with Registered Dietician Martha Tettenborn as we unravel her story of Ovarian Cancer at age 58. We will find out how she coped with chemotherapy using her chemo fasting protocol and a ketogenic diet. Martha Tettenborn RD is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Primal Health Coach with over 30 years of experience working in many areas of nutrition. In her private health coach practice; The Cancer Doula, Martha promotes a low-carb, whole-foods-based approach to disease prevention and cancer symptom management.

Martha’s Story

Martha is a Registered Dietician and an avid hiker, cyclist, live theatre backstage crew member and a wannabe world adventurer. She lives on the beautiful Bruce Peninsula in central Ontario, Canada with her husband Mike, a noisy cockatiel named Ziggy, and a flock of backyard chickens.

When diagnosed with Stage 1 ovarian cancer in 2018, Martha began exploring all available research and rediscovered the science of cancer metabolism. This led her to develop and use a protocol of eating a ketogenic diet together with targeted therapeutic fasting which she found significantly helped her reaction to chemotherapy. Inspired by her own journey, Martha wants to help others see cancer differently. Consider it perhaps as an experience that will give you strength, wisdom, and more love for your body and life than ever before.

Giving Back

Martha shares her knowledge as a dietitian and experience as a cancer patient to help others. She was a featured speaker at the Low Carb Long Weekend Summit and appears on numerous podcasts. Martha teaches about the power of metabolic approaches to support conventional cancer treatment. She also teaches courses about the Ketogenic approach to cancer treatment for the Nutrition Network and Udemy.
